RIP Kobe.

It was an honor to watch you play the game. I’ll forever be inspired by your Mamba Mentality. RIP to him, Gianna, and to those who lost their lives today. πŸ’œπŸ’›

Sports are such a great teacher. I think of everything they’ve taught me: camaraderie, humility, how to resolve differences.

We landed in London at about 10:30am. Getting off the plane took a while because we had to take shuttle busses to the terminal. We eventually got off at about 11ish. Scanned our passports at the e-gates. We had to use the bathrooms to freshen up + go to baggage claim.

Once all of that was done, we waited around for our driver to take us to the hotel. We didn’t realize we were an hour away, so we tried to take a nap in the car. London traffic is busy, just like any major city. We passed through Kensington and many notable places in London. It was cold. But we were excited!

We finally get to our destination. We met our tour director, Kay. She’s Scottish. Super friendly! We checked in with our tour packets in hand. Lil’s room was ready before ours was (we had to wait about 2 hours) so we accompanied her and hung out. We were watching a British cooking show on tv. Made me hungry.

Afterwards, we decided to go for a snack run. We needed water, soda, crisps, and chocolate. Pretty much junk food. Haha. We went to Tesco which was a short walk from the hotel. Tower Bridge was very close to us so we walked over.

At this point, I was ecstatic to just be in London again. I didn’t sleep much. We had a welcome meeting and dinner to meet our tour group in the evening.

Once we returned to the hotel, our room was finally ready! So juiced to be able to unpack and relax for a bit before meeting new folks. We get a knock at the door and it’s Laura! She hands us our customized scarves with our names on it. Very nice surprise. Here are a few shots from that day. I’ve got more to sort through. Stay tuned for my next entry. πŸ™‚

More entries will be typed up.

I promise. It’s been a busy week for me. The rain today wasn’t helping, but we need it.

It’s almost the weekend. I can’t contain my excitement. I honestly just want to clean, do laundry, and sleep.

I’m also waiting for Spring. I do not do well in the Winter. It’s too cold for me.

Enough of my complaints. Lol. Hope you all had a nice Thursday!

Good night.

December 27, 2019.

I’ll do my best to remember everything from beginning to end on our tour. This is day one, our overnight flight to London.

I was anxious and excited. I was fully packed that morning. I forgot a few things, but that was fine. Our brother drove us to the airport (thank you!) and we were on our way. Checking in took a while, especially because of my POC (portable oxygen concentrator). I need it to fly due to my medical condition. But once we got to the front, it went well. We met up with Lil once we got through security. We had some time to eat a snack before boarding + use the bathroom. Before heading over to our gate, we also bought some snacks.

Time to board!

We were in the 42nd row, which was great because we weren’t too far from the toilets. We all had space in the overhead bins and settled in just nicely. I kept myself busy watching the live action Aladdin, Yesterday, & Where’d You Go, Bernadette? Aladdin was my favorite. We were served dinner and then we tried to sleep. I didn’t get much sleep to be honest. Sleeping upright is quite difficult. I just rested my eyes for most of the flight.

10.5 hours later – hello London! πŸ™‚

Day two of this tour will follow shortly.

Home.

I’ve been awake since 7am PST, but my body is still in GMT.

London was so much fun. I was able to see new sites, make friends, and learn history. It’ll be a few years until I return again.

One of my favorite memories was walking around Kensington Palace and reading about Queen Victoria. We also had afternoon tea in the Pavilion. Some of the ladies from the group wore tiaras to tea. I was one of them πŸ‘ΈπŸ»

Now it’s back to reality. There’s so much to do in this new year, but a day at a time.

Until then I’m going to attempt to sleep. More updates eventually. Bye!
