We landed in London at about 10:30am. Getting off the plane took a while because we had to take shuttle busses to the terminal. We eventually got off at about 11ish. Scanned our passports at the e-gates. We had to use the bathrooms to freshen up + go to baggage claim.
Once all of that was done, we waited around for our driver to take us to the hotel. We didn’t realize we were an hour away, so we tried to take a nap in the car. London traffic is busy, just like any major city. We passed through Kensington and many notable places in London. It was cold. But we were excited!
We finally get to our destination. We met our tour director, Kay. She’s Scottish. Super friendly! We checked in with our tour packets in hand. Lil’s room was ready before ours was (we had to wait about 2 hours) so we accompanied her and hung out. We were watching a British cooking show on tv. Made me hungry.
Afterwards, we decided to go for a snack run. We needed water, soda, crisps, and chocolate. Pretty much junk food. Haha. We went to Tesco which was a short walk from the hotel. Tower Bridge was very close to us so we walked over.
At this point, I was ecstatic to just be in London again. I didn’t sleep much. We had a welcome meeting and dinner to meet our tour group in the evening.
Once we returned to the hotel, our room was finally ready! So juiced to be able to unpack and relax for a bit before meeting new folks. We get a knock at the door and it’s Laura! She hands us our customized scarves with our names on it. Very nice surprise. Here are a few shots from that day. I’ve got more to sort through. Stay tuned for my next entry. π
