MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: MAY 7-13, 2018.

We laid Maria to rest this week. It was one of the saddest moments of my life. So vibrant and so full of light. The one thing I can take away from this life event is reconnecting with relatives. Despite the tears and sadness, there was togetherness and hope.

I’m doing my best to not sweat the small things. I need to start looking at the bigger picture. Maria had a positive mindset! And she always took a chance. I want to start living that way. At times, I’m hesitant or too scared. You’ll never know if you don’t try.

I dedicate this post to Maria once again as well as her family. ❤

To the pictures!

Thankful to have been given the next two days off. Had to take care of errands.

Coco’s nail clip. Waiting to be called.

She was so well-behaved! 🙂

Fresh nails and Lizzie McGuire!

Went for a walk before heading over to the second day of the memorial + rosary.

She was surrounded by such beautiful flowers!

We went to get a car wash before heading home.

The last few minutes with Maria before the casket is blessed and closed.

This is quite an intimate moment, but it’s so powerful.

Funeral procession into the church.

Sending forth. Funeral procession continues to the cemetery and her final resting place.

In this moment, I was very sad.

Reception at Oyster Point. The food was amazing! Loved the roast beef.

Some of my beautiful family. ❤ Gorgeous! WE LOVE YOU, MARIAN!!!

After we all parted our separate ways, I slept for a while once we got home.

Back to “normal” life. 😦

I volunteered before work. Had to finish up the last pile of essays.

Chicken banh mi for lunch. WHOO!

Pleasant surprise after volunteering. THANK YOU SO MUCH, APF! ❤ I will cherish this. JAVIER LOPEZ, one of the best Giant relievers EVARRR!

After work, I decided to hang out with some of my coworkers to take my mind off things. No drinks for me, just water.

I watched the Celtics/Sixers game. I was rooting for Philly & some baseball.

Philly was eliminated. Meh.

Encountered rude people at the bar. Don’t shove someone’s belongings off a seat. Kindly ask and I may comply. As I left, I gave them a look. -_-

YASSS.

Walked to Embarcadero. I needed the steps.

Look at the lights. GO DUBS!!!!!

Mac Daddy for dinner. Drool.

Heading downtown. Happy Friday! 😀

Off to Uniqlo. I wanted to get a few Doraemon tees.

Look at the selection. I was so surprised to see the display! Everything was practically sold out online.

Had to try the tees on. Perfect size!

Japantown! One of our favorite places in the city. It’s quaint, the food is great, and so many cute things I want to buy. Hehe.

Picked up lunch at Nijiya before the movie screening.

About to watch Island Soldier. Thank you, APF!

This is my first CAAMFest screening.

It was a very insightful movie about Kosrae and its citizens signing up for military service for the U.S. in Micronesia. I learned a lot!

The director Nathan Fitch on the left. Some questions were answered from the audience.

Some more folks asking questions about the film.

The movie poster.

The shadows.

Loretta and I decided on curry for dinner.

HEY! 🙂

Chicken katsu curry. We ordered the same thing.

Obligatory selfie. Haha.

Uji Time for dessert! Black sesame. My usual order.

SISTAS! ❤ About to head home.

Mama’s Mother’s Day flowers.

Flowers for Lola Mila. ❤

We love seeing her happy! Dad and Mom took her out for lunch.

We went on a food run. KFC! 😛 Terrible, but it’s good.

We ended up buying other snacks too.

Selfie in the back. Heyyy!

My plate.

This is a time capsule! Dug up my old college project that I worked on with friends and the APIA community at UC Davis. So many great memories! I continue to serve my community.

That’s my week! Thanks for stopping by. Hope the week is going well for everyone!

Until next time.
